Fitting & Installation (Overview)
- Note the current pedal height relative to the footpeg before removal.
- Remove the rear R-clip/split pin and pivot bolt to free the old pedal; detach the return spring and retaining dowel.
- Remove oil seals from the old pedal and clean parts thoroughly (use a multi-purpose lube such as Maxima MPPL).
- Fit seals to the new pedal, re-install clevis, locating pin and split pin; re-fit the return spring.
- Apply waterproof grease to the pivot bolt, align holes and torque to manufacturer specs. Replace R-clip/split pin.
- Adjust pedal height and free play by turning the plunger bolt in the clevis and locking the nut.
- Fit the brake snake: for Japanese models replace the lower engine mount washer with the brake-snake washer; for KTM loop the cable around the lower mount and crimp per instructions. Set tension allowing pedal travel and trim excess cable.
